WELLINGTON CENTRAL INTERESTS
A meeting of the Wellington Central Residents and Ratepayers Beautifying and Progressive Association was held iu the Aro Street Mission Hall. Mr. P. Eraser, M.P., presided over a good attendance. The executive reported that work preliminary to the bituminising of Aro Street had been commenced. There was reason to believe that the footpaths in the district, which were in a deplorable and dangerous slate, would bo put into repair and other much-needed improvements of a minor nature would be carried out forthwith. Rules of the association were submitted by the executive and adopted. Mr. C. Tanner was appointed auditor. Complaints were made regarding . the erection of a certain building in which, it was alleged, defective timber was being used. It was also stated that no provision was mado for adequate drainage. It was decided that the executive should look info the matter and fake any stops required to protect the neighbourhood.
