OIL SCANDAL

PROSECUTION OF DOHENY AND FALL GOVERNMENT SCORES IMPORTANT POINT ADMISSIBILITY OF EVIDENCE by Telegraph.—Press Association. Copyright. Washington, November 29. The Government scored an important point during the prosecution of Edward Doheny and A. B. Fall when the Court gave a decision which permitted the presentation of the evidence taken before the Senate Committee in 1923 and 1924. This ruling has placed on record vital testimony regarding the secrecy surrounding Doheny’s 100,000 dollar loan to Fall, tlie transfer of a sum in cash from New York to Washington in a little brown bag, the repeated denials of Fall that he received monev from Doheny, and his admittedly ’ tintrue assertion that he received it from McLean. A Washington newspaper published the evidence only after it had been, admitted following strenuous objections from the defence, after which Government counsel read to the jury the salient circumstances of the oil scandal investigation. ■
