ALLEGED THEFT AND FORGERY
Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 30. Four charges involving theft and forgery were preferred against John Hamilton, a clerk (aged 43), in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M. Hamilton was an employee of the New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Association of Canterbury Ltd., and was charged with forging endorsements to cheques for .£5O 2s. Id., and £42 19s. 10d„ and with stealing the sums mentioned. He was remanded for a week, bail being allowed in one surety of £2OO and two of £lOO each.
