Christchurch, November 27

Heavy rain set in from . the south-west at 9 p.m. yesterday,' and during the night there we're frequent heavy downpours, 0.870 in. being recorded up till 9.30 a.m. to-dav, when the rain ceased. This morning a drying wind enabled the majority of the outdoor sports to be carried on in the afternoon, but the conditions were very wintry, with a few light showers. The total rainfall for the month to date is 3.250 inches, a record for November.
