HOMING PIGEONS
The Perone Homing Club held its race from Whangarei on Saturday last, a distance of 380 miles. Owing to the birds being liberated rather late, only one bird managed to home on the day of liberation, just at dark. The following were the results:—P. Metxed's blue chq. ben Taffy. took lllir. 55min. 19sec. to do the journey. 1: J. Holton’s blue cliq. cock Sun Stroke, arrived 5.20 a.m. i-etx day. 2: W. Smith’s blue cliq. hen Presentation, arrived 5.53.20 a.m., 3: 0. Culsbaw’s blue chq. cock Say On, arrived 5.55.17 a.m.. 4. Next week's race will be from Opua.
