TOWN CLERKS’ ASSOCIATION
4 APPROVED BY EASTBOURNE COUNCIL. "We want to make it so that men must have had experience or passed some examination before they can become Town Clerks,” said Mr. J. !<’. Menzies (town clerk) last night in drawing the Eastbourne Borough Council’s attention to a proposal to form a Town Clerks' Association. A circular letter on the subject was received fr n m Stratford, slating that the support of individual local bodies was sought, with a view to the approval of the Municipal Associa (ion being later obtained. On the motion of Councillor Edilson. seconded by Councillor Dawson, the council nnnroved the formation of the Ton n Cler'-s’ Association. The Mayor and Coiin'illors Jenkinson and Andrews voted against the motion.
