LEVIN BOXING ASSOCIATION

4. PROFESSIONAL CONTEST. The Levin Boxing Association have promoted a tournament for to-night at the De Luxe Theatre, Levin. The star attraction will be a 10-rounds contest between Roy Overend, of Hastings, and Mark Carrol, of Wanganui, feather weights, for a purse of £56. The preliminary bouts have been selected with a view'of getting boxers who will put vim and pep into their work. Jim Evans, Horowhenua champion, will meet 11. Larsen, of Wellington, both bantam weights, in a six-round contest. ■E. Evans, of Palmerston North, a fly weight, will meet W. Hurne, of Wellington. M. Makey, Levin, will box G. Withey, of Wellington, also at fly weights, and the brothers Maxwell, two midgets, will be seen in action. T. Holgate. Foxton, is to meet C. Thomas, of Wellington. in the feather-weight class. The contests listed above are four rounds each bout. The box plan for members and the public is now open nt W. E. Apps, booksellers. Levin, Ladies with escorts, will be admitted free to the dress circle I only.
