CALCUTTA ELECTIONS
MARKED BY MUCH EXCITEMENT (Rec. November 19, 1.20 a.m.) Delhi, November 18. The polling scenes in North and South Calcutta were marked by much excitement. At one point a free fight developed and the authorities had armoured car? in readiness, but they were unnecessary. Women were entitled to vote for the first time, but very few exercised the right.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
