An iron bridge is not a likely thing to catch fire; yet such a strange happening has to be recorded (says the Dunedin "Star"). By some unexplained means a fire got hold of the upper woodword on the railway bridge over the Deep Stream, three miles leyond Hindon recently, and a trf’n from Dunedin to Cromwell had to null up at ’.Vingatui, and then at Hindon, until word was sent through that temporary repairs had Uuen effected.
