HIGH PERCENTAGE OF REJECTIONS

AT AUSTRALIAN MILITARY EXAMINATIONS. Sydney, November 16. Figures compiled by the Defence Department for the year ended June 30 last show that almost one-third of the senior Cadets examined for admission to the Citizen Forces were unfit for military training, while nearly a quarter of the trainees, examined for the Cadet Force were rejected. The Director-General of Medical Services says it is not possible to analyse the figures, liecause the . most important factor of rejection is not stated. A svstem, however, was being introduced to remedy this defect, and tins wonld provide valuable data. He added that from a military standpoint such a high percentage of rejections was a matter for grave concern, and was disturbing to the self-esteem of the nation.
