The mutton butchers at Borthwick’s Waitara works were notified on Thursday that the killing would commence to-dav .and thrqe were definitely engaged, but,'without explanation, failed to put in an • appearance this morning. BOTH SIDES ACTIVE AT FEILDING. Dominion Special. Pgilding, November 12. The committee formed to organise free labour, in the event of trouble with the Feilding freezing workers, met this morning, when Mr. F. Sanderson, secretary of the North Island Freezing. Companies’ Association, was present? The meeting’s deliberations were not revealed to’ the Press. Mr. J. Roberts, one of the principals of the Workers’ Union, spoke at a meeting on Wednesday, but details are lacking as to the activities of the workers, although it. is freely' rumoured that Mr. Roberts did not get as sympathetic a hearing from unionists as was anticipated in certain quarters.
