TUESDAY’S TOURNAMENT. McCarthy, who is to meet Jamito on Tuesday uext, gave a somewhat disappointing display in his contest against Trowern, but on that occasion lie entered the ring within four or live days ot arriving in the Dominion alter a journey from Melbourne. Since then lie has kept steadily at work and on Tuesday night is expected to be seeii at his best Australian lorm. Jamito will be making his lourth appearance in Wellington and a very fine contest is anticipated. Among the amateur prcliminarics some new exponents will be seen ami more than usual interest is being taken in a special contest between a member of the staff from H.M.S. •‘Dunedin” ami Cleverley, the New Zealand champion. Since the plan opened on Wednesday morning there has been a steady demand ior seats.
