TAKAPUNA TRAM AND FERRY PURCHASE

ENDEAVOUR TO UPSET POLL. By Teeegbaph.—Press Association Auckland. November 10. Further developments in connection with the recent poll on the question of purchase by the Borough Council of the Takapuua Tramways and Ferry Company’s undertaking, took place yesterday when a petition was filed in the Magistrate's Court on behalf of a number of ratepayers asking that the poll be upset on the ground of irregularities and informalities. It was stated yesterday that the petition had been filed in order to prevent the poll becoming final and complete, and to keep open the ratepayers’ rights until a decision could be obtained on the question of its legality. A considerable amount of evidence is being collected, and will be presented in due course.
