NEW FLASHING LIGHT

FOR DANGEROUS POINT ON EAST COAST. By Telegraph-— Press Association Auckland, May 4. A new automatic unwatched flashing light is to be installed on< Matakawa Point, HJcks Bav. The Tutanckai landed the material for the worlt last week. 'Hie light will be about 15' miles west of the Hast Cape, ami about 11 miles west of Horocra Point, where the steamer Port Elliot was wrecked in thick weather on January 12, .1924. The land in the vicinity of the East Cape is often obscured by 'fog and mist. The light will enable mariners to check their position before reaching the East Cape, where the course, of south-bound vessels is altered.
