DR. NANSEN APPEALS FOR HELP GUARANTEES PROPER USE OF FOOD Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. Christiania, December 26. A warmly-worded appeal for help has been issued by Dr. Nansen to several nations. He dwells on tho frightful sufferings of millions of Russians from hunger and cold, and describes the statements that the help sent is consumed by the Soviet Government and the Red Army ns “black lies, contrived by human devils for the sake of political intrigue.” He declares that a flood of this lying is emanating from Helsingfors. He guarantees that all help sent to his and the American organisations has reached, the famine centre exclusively, and specially asks for bread and corn. —Reuter.
