FLIGHT FROM CILICIA
CHRISTIANS UNABLE TO RELY ON ANGORA GOVERNMENT BRITAIN’S NOTE TO FRANCE By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, November 23. According to an official telegram received in London, the Christians in Cilicia are beginning to emigrate in largo numbers, aud it is expected that at least 50,000 will leave tho country, as they do not rely on the assurance that the Angora Government will be responsible for their safety. Tho text of tho last British Note to France is not to be published in London. An auouncefiient to this effect gives a warning against misleading reports of its contents, particularly where they give (he impression that all difficulties have been removed. That this may be so is the strong hope of the British Government, which has always maintaiiird aud repeats in tho Note to I*rance that tho only right way to establish peace in the Near East is by close co-operation of France, Italy, and Britain. A message from Alexandria states that threo steamers, crowded with Armenians, have arrived from Mersina and Cilicia. It is not yet decided whether they will bo permitted to land. A message from Athens states that an Italian steamer has arrive! nt Smyrna with Armenian and Greek refugees from Mersina. It states that the Christians are flocking to Mersina from the interior. —Reuter. MUNITIONS CONSIGNED TO A ALIA DISCOVERED ON ITALIAN STEADIER. (Rcc. November 29, 7.35' p.m.) Athens, November 29.
