DISPOSAL OF THE FUNDS. , Melbourne, November 29. Tho Lord Mayor, Aiderman Swanson, has been advised by the chairman of Woothakata. Shire, which has jurisdiction over Mount' Dlulligan, to keep the funds, amounting to over 415000, in Melbourne, as all cases of distress have been provided for till the Now Year, and the Queensland Government, under its powers, had appropriated all funds collected. Dlr. Theodore (Premier of Queensland) has telegraphed to the effect that the chairman of the Mount Dlulligan trustees is receiving all the funds for relief purP °Mr Swanson stated that he intended to ignore the telegram, as the funds were intended to relieve distress, not for a political advertisement. Brisbane, November 29. Dlr. Theodore, in an interview, stated that the. trust was constituted at the request of the dependants. The question was a non-party one, and the trust was non-political.—Press Assn.
