At the Prince of Wales’s request rative princes and chiefs attended a reception at Bombay Government House, devoid of all ceremonial. This is regarded as a great concession on the part of the Indian nobles, it being the first occasion in history where the native governing classes have made an informal call on a member of the British ruling house. Sub. sequently the Prince attended a number of other functions and motored through the brilliantly illuminated city. He departed for Poona by special train.— Reuter.
