LOCAL BODIES’ EXPENDITURE. "Will the Government this session introduce legislation to amend tho Public Revenues Act, 1910 (section 121), in tho direction of increasing the payments that' may bo made by local bodies (including harbour, boa rds) under the heading of unauthorised expenditure?" asked Mr. T. W. Rhodes (Thames) in tho Houso of Representatives. The Minister of Internal Affairs replied: "It is not proposed to amend the law in the direction indicated by the honourable member. It is considered that the amount of ’unauthorised’ at present is quite sufficient to meet the purposes for which ’unauthorised is intended.”
