A striking exhibit nt the Industrial Exhibition is (he larger-than-life figure of a New Zealand soldier, hewn from a solid block of Coromandel granite This figure, standing at case, with rifle at the stand, is a very remarkable one. Tho figure is admirably proportionen, and there is good finish in the sculpturing of tho face, slouch hat. and the details of equipment.
