The total births registered for the four metropolitan areas were 715.. as against 701 in June—an increase of 14- The deaths in July were 421. .Of the total deaths, males contributed 225. females 193. Seventy-four o # the death's were of children under five years of age, being 17.5 per cent, of the whole number. Sixty of these were under one year of age.
