GELIGNITE EXPLOSION AT MANGAHAO
ONE MAN KILLED, ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED. By Telegraph.—Preu Association. Palmerston North, August 3. An explosion of gelignite occurred in the tunnel at the Mangahao hyd!ro-aleo-tric works to-day. Alexander Murdock, aged 83, was killed instantly, and Michael Lynch received serious facial injuries, and will probably loso his sight. Murdock was married 1 six weeks ago. He saw considerable service with the Tunnelling Corps at the war.
