COUNTRY PARTY VOTES WITH GOVERNMENT RESULT OF THE TRUCE By Telegraph—Presa Association— Copyright Melbourne, July 21. Tn the House of Representatives Sir Joseph Cook, in asking for two months’ supply, £1,903,000, stated that the actual surplus was £6,631,000, £5,750,000 'being brought forward from the previous yeaf. The National Debt is £331,595,000. Mr. J. T. Rvan moved as an amendment’: “Provided, the Government take stops to ensure the continuance of the wheat pool," which was defeated by 26 votes to 13, the Country Party voting with the Government. Mr. Gregory subsequently announced that, in view of the truce, the party could not do otherwise, but later ho would move a motion dealing with the wheat question.—Press Assn.
