TEXT OF BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S MEASURE RESTRICTING THE HOURS OF SALE By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Rec. July 21, 1.15 a.m.) London, July 20. The text has been issued of the Government’s Licensing Bill, introduced in the House of Commons. Tho measure applies to tho whole of Britain, and provides that the earliest hour at which liquor will be procurable shall be 11 o'clock in the morning, and tho latest 10 o’clock in the evening, except in tho metropolis, w’here the latest hour shall be 11 p.m. The hours of opening are limited to eight in the provinces and nine in London. Meals, with drinks, can be ordered on week days in London between 11 o’clock and midnight in hotels and restaurants, and between 11 and 11.30 in licensed houses and clubs. The Central Liquor Control Board is abolished, and its property transferred to the Home Secretary and the Secretary for Scotland, who are empowered to continue the hoard’s scheme of State management of the liquor traffic.—Reuter.
