PROPOSED VISIT BY ENGLISH TEAM By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June. 27. The proposal to invite a team of English amateurs to visit the Dominion this vear was further considered by the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council this evening. The committee was of opinion that the proposal should be gone on with, but it was decided to obtain the opinion of the various associations before proceeding further. It was pointed out that ths penses of the tour would be about £5790, of which the council would guarantee £1299. It was proposed that there should be eight matches against major associations, and three Test marches, with a guarantee of £409 each, and six matches against minor associations,/ with a guarantee of .£209 each. On the return iournev, via Australia, the team could play in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. The committee had been assured bv Air Hugh Trumble that if it was a renresentative team good gates could be relied unon, and a profit would result to the New Zealand Council. A letter embodying the. above facts is to be s°nt to each association, and replies will be asked for by July 14.
