PROMOTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS.
The following promotions and appointments in the Public Trust Office are announced:—
Mr. W. AL Barr, Chief Inspector, Welling! on. . Air. H. Turner, Chief Accountant, Wellington. Air. A. R. Jordan, Local Deputy Public Trustee, Christchurch.
Air. G. H. Elliffe, Ixical Deputy Public Trustee, Dunedin. Air. N. Al. Chesney, Local Deputy Public Trustee, Blenheim. Air. IV. M. Barr, who succeeds Air. Al. C. Barnett as Chief Inspector, is a wellknown officer of the Public Service, having been stationed in the Head Office of the Public Trust Office since his appointment as cadet in 1894. He has from time to time filled the positions of Chief Examiner, Chief Accountant, and Inspector, and has served under six Public Trustees. ’ Air. H. Turner's appointment to the position of Chief Accountant is consequent on the transfer of Air. P. D. Verschaffelt to the position of Assistant Public. Service Commissioner. Air. Turner, who is a qualified accountant; by raniination. joined the Head Office of the Public Trust Department' as a cadet on February 13 1899, and was stationed in Wellington until 1909, when he was transferred to Christchurch. He returned to Wellington in September sincn when he has successively fillet the po-l-Hons of Chief Examiner, Accountant.
