THE ANNUAL MEETING

Palmerston North, May 9.
The thirty-fifth annual meeting of the Manawatu and Most Coast A. and P. Association was held this afternoon. Mr. W. M’Kenzie presided, and there was a fair attendance.
(fhe annual report and balance-sheet, a digest of which has already been published, were adopted.
In speaking to the report and balancesheet, Air. J. M. Johnston (treasurer) pointed out that tho credit balance for the year was practically due to donations, as the bad weather experienced at both shows had caused considerable shrinkages in the takings. In spite of t his, the association was in a sound position, but with the present financial stringency many urgent) works could not be. undertaken.
In congratulating the ret ring president ill the large number of new members obtained during his year of office, speakers said that with 21)11 members the association was in the proud position of being the largest in the Dominion. It also, they asserted, had ihe most up-to-datb buildings and conveniences.
Mr. H. Y. I.ethbridgo, the newly-elect-ed president, took tho chair, and urged that there should bo no slacking off in tho energies of the committee and the members.
Mr. J. M. Johnston was re-elected treasurer, and tho following' committee was appointed:—Messrs. F. MX Arbon, John Belt, D. Buchanan, L. B. Collinson, M. A. Conway, M. A. Elliott, If. Cjillies, J. Linklater. IV. M’Kenzie, T. Saunders, and D. Thomas. Thirty-five new members were elected.
