QUANTITIES REMAINING IN STORE MUTTON AND LAMB NEARLY ALL SHIPPED The mutton, lamb, and boneless beef remaining in the New Zealand stores at the end of April for shipment on account of the Imperial Government amounted to only 28,661 freight carcasses. Shipping space had been allotted for 7628 freight carcasses, leaving 21,033 freight carcasses, all held at Wairoa, for which space had not been allotted. Twenty-three of the freezing works had been cleared altogether of Imperial moat at tho end of April, but other stores held beef to the amount of, roughly, 272,000 freight carcasses. The Cotai pay. ments by the Imperial Supplies Department on meat up to that time had been .£53,056,334.

Tho quantity of Imperial butter in the stores at the end of April was 132,734 boxes. During the month of April 203,674 boxes of butter were shipped. The wool held in the stores on account of the Imperial Government at the end of April amounted to 314,890 bales, comprising 194,657 bales of brokers’ wool, 21,059 bales of Government slipe wool, 49,972 bales of Government scoured wool and 49,202 bales of freezing companies’ slipe wool. The total payments made by the Imperial Supplies Department on account of produce bought on behalf of the Imperial Government up to April 30, were as follow: —
