4 GOVERNMENT’S ENGINEER RETURNS FROM AMERICA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, April 16. Tho Hon. D. H. Guthrie states that Mr. Thompson, chief drainage engineer, has returned from the United States with information and plant that will enable tho Government to carry out its drainage schemes in different parts of the Dominion with expedition, which was quite impossible under tho old methods. The report prepared by Mr. Ihompeon will be put before Cabinet at the earliest moment:, and made public us soon as it has been considered.
