REQUISITIONED SHIPS
NORWAY’S CLAIMS AGAINST UNITED STATES.

It is understood that Mr. Charles Hughes (Secretary of State) suggested to Norway that her claims against the United States for ships requisitioned during the war should be arbitrated upon by the permanent Hague Court. Tho United States Shipping Board awardeel Norway some 14,000,000 dollars, which Norway refused, claiming that an allowance should be made for the increased prices .of tonnage during tho war.—Aus.N.Z.
