OWNERS’ AND TRAINERS’ ASSOCIATION
The first annual meeting of the North Island Racehorse Owners’ and Trainors Asgeociation is to be .held at Palmerston North on April 12. It is stated that the association intends to affiliate with no other body or 'union outside of, and not connected with, racing. In the course of a circular letter the organiser of the association (Air. J. B. Kirk) says the objects and aims of the newly-formed association are to obtain by reasonable'and rational means the adjustment of any grievances that may arise. To mutually protect the interests of racing and back up co-operatively all reasonable demands; also to attend to all requirements of the members of the association. There is, adds the circular. no body or trade nearly as targ. ns the bodv c.' owners and trainers who have not associated for mutual aseistnnce and protection. Palmerston North is proposed ns the centre solely because of its central position The only paid official te the secretary.
