COCKATOO DOCKYARDS
GO-SLOW METHODS MAKE SHIPBUILDING TOO COSTLY.
Sydney, March 15.
It is suggested in some quarters that go-slow methods at the Cockatoo dockyards made the cost of naval shipbuilding almost prohibitive. Unofficial estimates show that H.M.A.S. Adelaide has already cost a million, and, owing to the length of time in building, she will te out of date when ready for commission. Her sister ships, built in England, were completed long ago, and cost 41450,000 each. —Press Assn.
