TROUT FISHING
A RECORD SEASON. Speaking to a Dominion representative yesterday, Mr. C. I. Dasent, secretary of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, stated that for the first time in the history of the society over £100<) had been received in license fees. That had been achieved by the middle of lebruarv, and th© financial year did not end until March 31, whilst the fishing season did not close until April 30, so that promised to be an altogether exceptional season. The fishing had been uniformly good throughout the season in the Wellington acclimatisation district. Some really splendid catches had been made. A representative of the society is nOT> in the Auckland; district, securing some 200 voung pheasants from Dargaville and Hamilton for liberation m this district.
