PROBABLY FOUR CANDIDATES. Now that Mr. .1. P. Luke has definitely announced his decision not to stand for the Mayoralty in April, there arc, it seemf, several with their eye on the municipal ermine. Mr. L. M'Kenzie has already commenced 'his campaign, and intends to go to the poll against allcomers. Councillor C. B. Norwood, whose candidature is favoured by a number of the suburban electors’ associations may yet be induced to face the hustings in order to see certain things through he has eo well begun, and Councillor R. A. Wright, M.P., is to be waited upon and asked to' consent to nomination. Thesje three, with Mr. P. Hickey (Lnlxmr), will make up a quartet of candidates.

A deputation is being to wait on Mr. Wright at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday to ask him to contest, the Mayoralty.
