NORTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. Br Tolexranh—Pre,« Association Palmerston North, January 21. The North Island croquet championships were continued to-day. Heavy rain fell’’during the afternoon, but play did not cease. In tho final of the open mixed doubles, Mrs. Murray Aynsley and A. Ross (Christchurch) defeated Dr. Whittaker and Mrs. M'Rea (Palmerston North), 26 —l9. . The final of the open singles will bo played to-morrow between Dr. Whittaker and A. Ross. H. P. Stratton (Hastings) qualified for the final of the handicap singles bydefeating Mrs. Hogan, 26—20. Mrs. Richardson and S. M'Cul lough (Christchurch) have reached the final of the handicap doubles. They will play off with the winners of the semi-final game between Mrs. Spring and Mrs. Campbell, and Mrs. Clarkson and Mrs. Cottom. The tournament concludes tomorrow.
