Charles Joseph Clark, the driver of the motor-car which caused the sonsational smash in Manners Street on Wednesday night was arrested yesterday, ' lie will appear in tho Magistrate's Court to-day, and the charge that will bo preferred against him is one of causing actual bodily harm to Norman Beck under circumstances which, should death ensue, would amount to manslaughter." I'rom inquiries made last night it appeared that the hospital authorities did not regard Mr. Beck s condition as critical, though ii( had not shown very much improvement since the.time of his admission. Miss Stubbs, who was tho other victim that had to be removed to the hospital, was repotted l to be a utiuo better.
