In the morning Lord and Lady Jollicoc and parly, accompanied by the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jackson) and iiri-gadie.r-fienoral mid Mis. Hart, wero taken on a motor tour of tho district. This country around Manaia, Gladstone, and Taratnhi was included in the. trip, during the progress of which Their Excellencies wero cheered by many groups of country people who had gathered to see the visitors. The tour was concluded at tho Sellable Poultry I'arni, where moraine tea was .served.
This afternoon * civic function was held in the Municipal Park, where several thousand peoplo wore congregated. Following the formal ceremonies, Their Excellencies conversed with many of tho ntizems present, iftcr attending mi aflernoon tea given by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Navy League, the Vice-Bega partv left, for Wellington by tho mail train, to which special carriages had beou attached.
