Tho polico consider general precautionary measures advisable, in view of tho black winter outlook, the high public feeling, and recent unemployment riots. Measures arc likely to be applied to tho Houses of Parliament and other pijblic buildings. Private wires have beon laid from Downing Street to tho polico headquarters, and largo police reserves are constantly ready.
The public galleries of tho House of Commons wcro closed 10-day, and extra polico were on duty in the precincts.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
SAFEGUARDING PARLIAMENT (Rec. November 30, 5.5 p.m.) London, November 29. There is only one entrance to Parliament for strangers. The' Carriage gates to the palace yard are closed against all vehicles. Nobody, -unless accompanving n member, is .admitted to any portion of the buildings, and even then is not admitted to either Cham'bor or the inner lobbies. Many detectives are employed. Permits are issued to officials and employees. The Are brigade is co-operating to safeguard alj tho vulnerable parts of London.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable. Assu.
