It is announced that the polico_ have discovered a stowaway agency, which is engaged in surreptitiously shipping emigrants to the United States, in contrnveutiou of tile "gentlemen's agreement between the United States and Japan. Representatives of the agency havo confessed that they are working in conjunction with petty officers of cargo s'feamors. who allowed stowaways aboard disguised as members of the crew, for a foe of 1600 yen (,£180).-Aus.-N.Z.
