VICTORY FOR REACTIONARY ELEMENTS. (Rec. November 29, 8.30 p.m.) New York, November 28.Mr. S. Gompers (president of tho American Federation of Labour), analysing i!he result of the Congressional election, declared that organised Labour had won a victory, since fifty candidates hostile to Labour were defeated and fifteen Labour union members were elected. Mr. Gompers added: "The election generally, however, was a victory for tho reactionary elements, who now plan an assault upon unionised labour, for ilho purpose of depriving it of its hardearned gains."—Aus.-N.Z.
