Mr. M'Leod, who asked the Prime Minister a question on the point, askod further whether the Prime Minister's estimate of a month ago concerning the Vi'ansfer of meat from New Zealand had proved accurate, and suggested that the Government might issue returns from time to time giving tho amounti of meat held in London. The Prime Minister 6aid that tho suggestion appeared to him to ho a particularly good ono. At a. time like tins when there was a good deal of anxiety, tho information would bo valuable, and would bo welcome not only to tho fanners hut to tho many people who were interested in tho markets for our produce.
