ATHLETICS

The Wellington College annual crosscountry runs took place on Friday afternoon. In the senior grade thero were 40 contestants, and in the junior close on 100, and tho results were as follow.— Senior: Lamason, I, 90sec, 1; Maclaurin, scr„ 2; Oakey, scr., 3. Junior: Wilson/ 111, 120 sec, 1; Gault, 11, lOOsoc, 2; Masscy, Msec 3. For tho Oram Cup for long-distance running (tho events being the«cross-coun-dry run and the mile championship), Maclaurin scored 3 points, Oakey 2 points, and Bedell. I, 1 point. The deciding race for the cup-tlie mile championship—will be run a few days beforo the annual Bports, which take place on November 12. Mr. Brodic. acted as Btarter, and Messrs. Millard and Gilford as timekeepers.
