The "Observer" sayß:—Besides tho American efforts to control the world's shipping tho American Steel Corporation is seeking to monopolise the supply of steol products to the Continent. First came tho establishment in Germany of the Amstea subsidiary of tho United States Steel Products Corporation, the Steel Trust's selling end. The Amorican concern has already sold 75,000 tons of ship-plates in German yards. More important still, it is now announced from Paris that the Stinnes, Tyssens, Schncidor; and Creusot firms, tho United States Steel Corporation, and the National City Bank (both tho latter linking up ,with tho Standard Oil Company) have reached an agreement aiming at tho oxclnsion of British industry from the reconstruction of Europe. Americans are also negotiating for the purchase or lease of shipbuilding yards at Rcval, from which they will distribute steel products to the Baltic, and are offering to supply Esfhonia with coal for a period of years.—Aus.N.Z.
