PRICE-CUTTING IN UNITED STATES
: -—: — ■ ANOTHER BIG MOVEMENT LAUNCHED.(Rec. September 24, 10.30 p.m.) New York, September 23. Another largo price-cutting movement in the United States has apparently been launched. It is reported - from Detroit that the Ford Company has reduced the price of motor-cars 14 to 31 per cent. Other automobile manufacturers of prominent brands liavo announced a reduction of 17 to 21 per cent. ■ It is reported from Chicago that the Sears Roebuck Company and tho Montgomery Ward Company, two of tho largest merchandise houses in the world, have announced price reducßons of 10 to 20 per cent—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
