I?ECOM> PRICES FOR PIGS. By Tolecranh—Pren Association. Dunedin, September 22. There weiu fair entries of fat stock at Bnriiside to-day. Fat cattle and fat sheep met with a good sale at practically last week's rates. Pigs again realised extreme prices, competition being particularly keen. The prices obtained for pigs were again a record for Bnrnside sales. Prime heavy-weight baconnrs realised up to .£ls 3s. each. There was a medium yarding of 17(5'head of fat cattle. The quality on the whole was only fair. The demand was good, but prices were a shade easier thin those of last week. Quotations:—Extra prime bullocks, up to ,£3l 2s. Gd.: prime, .£27 to JE29; medium, ,£22 10s. to .£24; inferior, .£ls 10--. to ,£l7; extra prime heifers, up to .£22 2s. Gd.; prime, ,£l7 10s. to ,£l9; medium cows and heifers. £1S to .£l4 10s.; inferior, £11 10s. to. .£l2 10s. There was a good yarding of store cattle, the finality being mixed. Competition was fairly brisk, and late rat>>s were fully maintained. There was a large yarding of slippp of fair quality, a total of -(60 head being offered.for sale. Competition was good and pricrs for all classes improved on last week's rates by about Is. to 2s. psr head. Extra prime heavyweight wethers realised up' to s;>s.; prime, to 525. (id.; medium, 40s. to Ifis. Cd.; light and unfinished sorts, from 345. upwards. Prime ew.;s realised from 42*. to 4Ss. Oil.; medium, .Kl'. to 415.; light and aged, from 255. upwards. A large yarding of pigs met with keen competition. Prices were in advance of the extreme high rates lately ruling. Brst baenners realised from Is. 3.U1. to Is. sd. per lb., and best porkers from Is. 41(1. to 16. Gd. l». r lb.
