The New Zeala.nd Lean and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Waikanae sale, held on Wednesday:—Yearling Btccrs, £4 45.; medium yearling heiforß, £4 3s. to £4 155.; weaner bulla, 255.; store cows, £4 10s. to £5 55.-:- cull dairy cows, £5 to £6; springing heifers (medium), £9 to £11 10s.; ditto (good), to £15; good dairy cows, £14 ss. to £17 sa. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hawera branch, report for the week ending September 4:—On Auguat 28 we held our Opunake spring horse fair, when more than the advertised number of all classes came forward. Practically the whole yarding changed owners, and satisfactory prices were obtained. We quote:—Draughts, £36 to £52; half-draughts, £21 to £2i 10s.; hacks, to £20. At Kakaramca, on August 30, wo had a good yarding of all classes of stock, especially dairy cattle. Moat ofthe latter were disposed o[ at improved rates. Wo quote:—2,'4, and 6-tooth wethers, small, 31s. 6d.; fat and forward cows, £8 10a. 6d. to £11; medium sorts, £6 to £7 JOs.; light ditto, to £4 155.; empty hciferß, to £6 10s.; yearling heifers, good Quality, £5 7a. 6d. to £8 17s. 6d.: others, to £3 55.; store pigß, to £2 10s.; small ditto, 325.; bows, to £5; boar, £5; dairy cows, best, to £22; others, £9 to £18; spring heifcra, £12 15b. to £22 10s.; ditto, calved, £14 10b. At Eltham, on Wednesday, a moderate yarding was offered, with no change in tho market. Wo quote:—Forward cowa, £8 sb. to £10; medium stores, £5 to £6 10s.; lighter sorts, £3 to £4 175.; empty heifers, to £6 16b.; yearling heifers (good), £5 95.; others, to £3; store pigs, £2 4s. to £2 75.; hogEetß, 33b. 4d.; dairy cows. £12 10b. to £15 15b.; heifera, £12 10a. to £23 10b. On Thursday, at Hawera, dairy, stock wero penned in'large numbers. For these bidding was brisk throughout, and we report a *ery satisfactory sale. Late rates ruled for Btoro cattle.
