NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYMEN
AND THE COUNCIL OF ACTION,
The following motion was carried at a meeting held on Sunday of the Thorndon branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servantss"That the members of this branch of the A.S.B-S. view with the greatest possible gratification the action of British railwaymen, headed hy their national secretary, Mr. Thomas, M.P., in combining with all other branches of Labour in Great Britain for the purpose of breaking down that secret diplomacy, which has had such a malodorous and sinful history, and of preventing the war-weary British Empire from being embroiled in wars which are a crying offence to liberty, justice, and humanity. "Further, we heartily approve of the action of the national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party, iitid the NewZealand Parliamentary Labour Party, m supporting the British Labour Council of Action, and join with them in wishing it complete success. "We also discard and denounce the antagonistic attitude of three members of Parliament, two of whom, we regret to say, ore ex-railwaymen, who have publicly declared their opposition to organised Labour in Great Britain, and who havo no right or authority:to 6pc<ik for organised Labour in this country.
