Captain Fleming, Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Auckland, has comvranlcatod with the secretary of the New Zealand Shipwreck Belief Society, recommending the granting of monetary assistance to the officers and crew of the ■auxiliary scow Te Tiko, recently wreoked on Slipper Island. The society complied with Captain , Fleming's request, and granted .£ls each'to the captain and two engthTers, and .510 each to four seamen. It instructed ■ Captain Fleming to draw «n tho society's account to this extent.
