Mr. Justice Gibson descanted bitterly when nine Jurors appeared out of 6evcnty-cight summoned, because they had received notice threatening that their lives and property, women, and children -would not be protected in futuro by the law. "It makes my Mood run cold," said Mr. Justice Gibson. "It is horrible that any Irishman should be so weak. The prisoners will remain in custody, and the Kuilty will go unpunished." The Judge defined 'the jurors' default as a crime against God and man, and fined each Grand Juror .-£IOO, special jurors .£25, and petty jurors ,£lO.
