GRAVE CONSEQUENCES FOR POLAND FEARED By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Warsaw, July 7. The Poles havo begun counter-attacks in Volhynia. Bolshevik attempts to force the Beresina and offensives south of Polotsk and in Podolia were defeated with 6evere losses. These local operations are developing into a great battle on the whole front. The Bolsheviks havo concentrated the bulk of their forces between the Dvina and the Dnieper, in tho region of Smolensk, and a serious Bolshevik advance, pregnant with grave consequences, is likely. It will separate Poland from the Baltic States, and permit direct communication between Germany and Soviet En6Bia. A Polish delegate at Spa says that Marshal Foch is in possession of documents which indisputably prove the intentlon of Germany to make war against Poland.— Reuter.' Berlin, July 7. Advices from Warsaw state that the Bolsheviks have begun an offensive on the northern front, north of the Mblodetchino to Polotsk railway. Four divielons' are participating in the attack.— Aus.-N.Z.
